“O to grace how great a debtor daily I’m constrained to be!

Let Thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to Thee!

Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave this God I love;

Here’s my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above.”

  1. I love this hymn! We sang it in Women's Choir at the U with the 2 audition only chorales and the organ majors at one of our concerts. It was so awesome. It makes me sad it isn't in the hymn book. 😦

    this is a truly awesome hymn.

    this verse always reminds me how stupid i am, that i really do need to be fettered, glued, or quilted, or something to keep my idiot self from wandering off somewhere i shouldn't be. talking spiritually here . . .
