Old Age

So!
I’m going to be 40 this year.
Yeah. It’s no big deal really….
well, it wouldn’t be if it weren’t for these pesky wrinkles!
What the Heck???
I’ve used Oil of Ol’lady everyday for years.
I stay hydrated (12 Diet Coke’s a day).
My Mom has a friend that has great skin. She has always used Vaseline as a moisturizer.
I am afraid that this would make my adult acne worse. (as if there is anything worse than an old lady with a zit face. I guess there is one thing worse- an old lady with stinky breath and zits)
What do you use to keep your skin lovely, and smooth?

  1. I use whatever moisturizer works at the moment. I'm trying to age gracefully, lol. I guess you could stay in the house to avoid the sun, never smile to avoid those pesky eye wrinkles, don't smoke or whistle so your lips don't wrinkle, or get real fat so your skin stretches. But if I had to do all those things to look young, I'd really rather just be dead. Then you will never wrinkle, lolol. I have always thought that the reason our near vision goes at around age 40, is so we can't see our wrinkles as well.

  2. Welcome to the 40's!! You don't look it for sure. But as far as moisturizers, I use Proactiv with sunscreen on my face. I used to use Oil of Olay when I was in my college days, but that was long ago. I have to say that Wilma is right though, your vision does start to decline by 40. That is when I began to wear progressives. Argh!

  3. Okay .. I thought that picture was a loaf of bread! hee hee .. maybe I need more sleep? I stay out of the sun, drink lots of water, change my pillowcase, exfoliate and moisturize with Avene product line, it works with my sensitive skin. Also, I don't smoke .. it gives you 'cat bum mouth'.

  4. You're such a scream!

I use whatever is laying around. Vaseline Intensive Care, free hotel moisturizers, the samples from Clinique in their “free” gifts. And my skin is as tight as_ _ _ (you fill in the blanks)!

  5. There seriously is NOTHING like Kinerase Lotion or Cream. It's the best I've ever used. I've been using it since I was 25. Now I'm 35 with a 15 year old and a 5 year old daughter and nobody ever guesses that. I am not a rep for Kinerase or anything, just LOVE the product. It keeps my skin smooth hydrated and even keeps my acne at bay. It's expensive but SO worth it. You can find it on ebay for less but just make sure it's from a reliable skincare seller. After using it for 3 months, you'll never want to use anything else. Trust me.

  6. When we first got one of our kids she was 8 years old. I was 32. She asked me if the lotion I was putting on my face was to keep wrinkles away. I told her no it was just a foundation. She then replyed…”Well I think you should get some of that wrinkle stuff”!!

  7. I got a free sample of Olay Pro-X wrinkle smoothing cream and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! I've used it for three weeks now and I can see results. I actually thought the fine lines around my eyes looked better after only 1 week! Anyway, since it was free, I don't know how much it costs, but I think it's worth a look.

  8. Congratulations! Forty is not old at all. I love the wisdom and attitude that comes with age. Use it! I just use a plain Loreal moisturizer every morning, with some sunscreen in it. Our sun is quite harmful here in Africa. I think the trick is to not use too much products and to keep your skin clean. I am still so lazy to clean my face at night. I'm trying though. Chocolates is not helping much and I do get the ONE annoying “monthly” zit! Always in a VERY public place, like my chin or nose. The worst one is smack bam between the eyes!
